HEALTH & SAFETY INFORMATION
• IDLH:
1500
mg/m3
• IARC:
Unclassifiable
substance, Group 3;
•
OSHA Table Z-1 Air Contaminant
•
Causes irritation of the eyes and respiratory tract. Prolonged or repeated
exposure may cause sensitization, defatting of the skin with dryness, redness,
and rash.
Exposure Limits:
•
ACGIH TLV: 5 mg/m3 TWA, not classifiable as a human carcinogen
•
OSHA PEL/NIOSH REL: 5 mg/m3 TWA
•
DFG MAK: Weak effects on skin
Respirator:
50
mg/m3:
DMXSQ (any dust and
mist respirator except single-use and quarter mask respirators)
SA
(any supplied-air respirator).
125
mg/m3:
SA:CF (any
supplied-air respirator operated in a continuous-flow mode)
PAPRDM,
(any powered, air-purifying respirator with a dust and mist filter).
250 mg/m3:
HiEF (any air-purifying, full-facepiece
respirator with a high-efficiency particulate filter) PAPRTHiE (any powered,
air-purifying respirator with a tight-fitting facepiece and a high-efficiency
particulate filter) SCBAF (any self-contained breathing apparatus with a full
facepiece) SAF (any supplied-air respirator with a full facepiece).
1,500 mg/m3:
SAF:PD,PP (any supplied-air respirator that
has a full facepiece and is operated in a pressure-demand or other
positive-pressure mode).
Emergency
or Planned Entry into Unknown Concentrations or IDLH Conditions
SCBAF:PD,PP (any self-contained breathing
apparatus that has a full facepiece and is operated in a pressure-demand or
other positivepressure mode)
SAF:PD,PP:ASCBA (any suppliedair respirator
that has a full facepiece and is operated in a pressure-demand or other
positive-pressure mode in combination with an auxiliary self-contained
breathing apparatus operated in a pressure-demand or other positive-pressure
mode).
Escape:
HiEF (any airpurifying, full-facepiece
respirator with a highefficiency
particulate
filter) SCBAE (any appropriate escape-type, self-contained breathing apparatus).
Note: Substance reported to cause eye irritation or damage; may require eye
protection.
Reactivity:
Confined
storage of dry chemical may lead to decomposition and explosion. A strong
oxidant; extremely reactive. Fires and explosion may result from heat, shock,
friction, or contamination and from contact with strong acids, combustible
materials, oxidizers, acids, bases, alcohols, reducing agents, metals, metal
oxides, amines, accelerators, methyl methacrylate, organic matter, lithium
aluminum carbide, dimethyl aniline, amines, and metallic naphthenates. May
attack some plastics, rubber, and coatings. Protect containers from shock, heat
and friction.

FIRST AID:
MORE
THAN 51–100%:
Move victim to
fresh air. Call emergency medical care. Apply artificial respiration if victim
is not breathing. Administer oxygen if breathing is difficult. Remove and
isolate contaminated clothing and shoes. Remove material from skin immediately.
In case of contact with substance, immediately flush skin or eyes with running
water for at least 20 minutes. Keep victim warm and quiet. Ensure that medical
personnel are aware of the material(s) involved, and take precautions to
protect
themselves.
